I’m so excited to share a bit about Christy Wright’s Business Boutique! This event was held at Cornerstone Church in Nashville, Tennessee. They hosted 3000 women, had 19 speakers, 11 onstage sessions, 14 different Breakout Sessions, and brought in Lady Antebellum. They really went all out for this 2-day event. There was live music in the lobby, food trucks for lunches, and even vendors on site. Y’all, this conference was sold out!
It was amazing to look around the auditorium full of business minded women hoping to gain the necessary tools to make their dreams a reality. Everyone there was within at least one of the following categories:
Dreamer: You want to do something, but you’re not sure what.
Starter: You’ve got your idea, but you need help to get it off the ground.
Builder: You’ve already created something but now you’re ready to take it to the next level.
When I originally signed up for the Business Boutique conference I was in the Starter phase of Ginger Paper Co.. Now I’m technically in the Builder phase for the shop but I feel I’m also in the Dreamer phase for what I’m called to do long-term. This conference took us from Foundation to Fruition in a way that made it possible to plan every step to lead to a successful business. By the end of the event you’ll have the confidence needed to move forward, a workbook with all the valuable notes you took, and hopefully some new friends to encourage you along the way.
It’s impossible for me to express how valuable and empowering the Business Boutique was. I fully anticipate attending this conference again and encourage you to consider attending too. Christy Wright even announced they will be doing 1-day events next year.
So what does this little workbook have in it? Every single note I took! This workbook is a resource guide that contains speaker notes, a Business Plan model, Encouraging Quotes, names of women I connected with, a Budget Checklist & Cheat Sheet and room for follow-up notes. I’ll be referring back to these notes often.

Wasn’t that an amazing line up? Everything we wanted to learn right within our reach! So now that you’re really excited to go to an event too, I thought I’d give you the heads up on preparation. Keep in mind, I went to the 2-Day conference so the 1-Day event materials may be different. I already mentioned the workbook so you can leave the additional notebook at the hotel to lighten your load. I’m sure there’s a lot more I could include but these will guarantee you’re prepared!
How to Prepare for Business Boutique
~ Connect via social media! Prior to your event take advantage of the opportunity to get to know some of the ladies who will also be at your event. You may have the chance to meet while there!
~ There were lots of jeans, ladies! Dress in Business Casual attire but ultimately you want to be comfortable and warm. Keep in mind you will spend a majority of your time seated but you will have the opportunity to take lots of selfies, and maybe even have your headshots done!
~ Pack Light! For the actual event that is! You will have just about every minute of your time accounted for so whatever you bring, you’ll need to carry with you everywhere. Do yourself a favor and don’t bother with the extra load.
~ Expect to Network! No pressure really, just get to know the ladies seated near you. It’s a good idea to bring business cards; if your just starting out, bring networking cards to share your contact information.
~ Lunch is a biggie! While lunch trucks were provided for the Nashville event, the lines were very long. You may want to consider bringing a light lunch and/or snacks along with a bottle of water. I suggest bringing high protein snack bars, a fruit and maybe a couple of protein packs that will be fine without refrigeration.
~ Wear Your Product! You’ll most likely have vendors at your event but don’t let that deter you from sharing your work too. Take advantage of the opportunity for sales; If your product is light enough, bring in a couple of samples. Leave the bulk of your product in your car just in case some of the ladies want it now!
I hope you enjoyed this synopsis of the Business Boutique. I went to this conference alone but left with new friends and the knowledge that I’m not alone.
